The second edition of the 'Encyclopedia of Playing Card Flourishes' is nearly identical to the first, save for a few minor corrections. With over 2800 photographs covering everything from the most basic fancy cut to the most difficult of aerial stunts, the book is a wealth of information for the flourish enthusiast. Never before has a text been offered with so many detailed descriptions of so many practical moves. Not only will you learn all the classics like the Charlier Pass, Pressure Fan and Springing the cards, you will have access to dozens of the Flourishman's own unique creations. No, you won't see dozens of Sybil Cuts (There is only one Sybil in the entire book). Instead, you get the real work on stunners like the "impossible" Double Arm-Spread, the now-famous Overhead Spring, and real Card Juggling. Then there are dozens and dozens of beautiful items like the Upright Spread (an Arm-Spread that is balanced on its edge), The Cross-Hands Waterfall Shuffle, the "real" One-Hand Overhand Shuffle, the already-classsic Fan Twirl Close, the already popular L-X Quad Cut/Interpolation sequences. Not to mention all the deck twirls that enable a performer to transition smoothly from one flourish to the next. There are even eye-pleasing ways of picking up and putting down a deck of cards.
This text has something for everyone. There are stunts you can learn in minutes, like the Square Cuts in the Table Flourishes Chapter, stunts that will take a few hours, like the Fan Twirl Close, and stunts that will take years to perfect, like double paddiddle spins and smooth Brush sequences. If you have trouble with Pressure Fans, you will find the solution in the "Encyclopedia." If you want to be able to spring the cards three feet and more, you need this book. If you are looking for unreal table cuts, fancy ways of dealing the cards, new two-hand cuts to change up with your Sybils, or a new artform in which to specialize, this book will provide.
Because there is so much material in the 545 pages, you should have no difficulty finding many items to suit your needs. Every flourish is illustrated with stop-motion stills from video of the moves being executed. Even the Charlier Pass has a full page of photos. You can see each flourish slowly progress, frame by frame, and follow along. If you have trouble, there is plenty of text, describing in exacting detail how to perform every motion of every stunt.
While the infamous Foot Shuffle is not described, the mere fact that the guy can do a foot shuffle should reassure you that you are learning from a both a master and someone who is really, really, really dedicated to the art. No one else has categorized flourishes as to type, and no one else has invented so many original pure flourishes, no one comes close to being able to put out such variety.
Take advantage of the goldmine of practical information the Flourishman has carefully laid out for you. No where else can you get so much diversity, so many real show-stoppers, and so much heartfelt devotion to the renaissance in interest in beautiful card flourishes. Find out what people from 60 countries and all fifty states already know: The "Encyclopedia of Playing Card Flourishes" is the first, the biggest and the best treatment of the subject ever produced.
The Handlordz Store was proud and honored to have carried this masterpiece!
